Korea may not be the first country you associate with wine, but this festival aims to change that, as it celebrates local vintages along with 10,000 wines from around the world.

The Daejeon International Wine Fair is part business convention, as it features the Asia Wine Buyers’ Conference, but it’s open to the public on special days, meaning all of those wines are available to taste. There’s also a range of fun themed events including a wine footbath.

Tickets for the wine festival range from 10,000KRW for a basic entry to 20,000KRW for a food package and can be bought online via Interpark. Check out more details and grab early discounts on the official website here. The event runs from 31st August to 2nd September. Note that ID is required for all visitors, and those under the age of 19 cannot take part in the wine tasting.

Daejeon is a central South Korean city reachable in about 50 minutes via high speed train (KTX) from Seoul. It’s the hometown of many celebs including Chen from EXO, Sanghyuk from VIXX, Gunwoo from MYname, Changgyu and Jinho from Pentagon, and Sujeong from Lovelyz.
