Pajeon is a traditional Korean-style pancake, most popularly ate as a snack/appetiser. It is a very simple dish and doesn’t take very long to prepare, so continue reading to find out how to make it!

Ingredients:

– 2 cups pancake mix
– 2 cups water
– 2 eggs
– 1 bunch scallions, chopped
– 1 stalk scallion, minced
– vegetable oil
– salt and pepper
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 clove garlic, minced
– 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
– 1/2 tsp sugar
– 1 tsp sesame oil

Step 1: Add pancake mix, water and eggs into a large bowl and mix until smooth.

Step 2: Chop up half the scallions and add into the mix, seasoning with salt and pepper. Leave for 10-15 minutes to set.

Step 3: Add a little vegetable oil into a pan and heat on a medium flame. Then, pour the mix into the pan, spreading it out evenly.

Step 4: Sprinkle over a few more of the scallions and let it cook for 5-8 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.

Step 5: Flip the pancake onto the other side, cooking for another 5-8 minutes.

Step 6: Whilst the pancake cooks, add the soy sauce, vinegar, minced scallion, minced garlic, red chili flakes, sugar and sesame oil into a small bowl and mix together to create a dipping sauce.

Step 7: Once the pancake is cooked, cut into equal pieces like a pizza and serve with the dipping sauce. Eat it whilst its warm!
